This is a REAL PHOTO Taken At Entrance To Cuartel, Batista Troops Surrendering To Rebel Troops, REAL CUBIAN HISTORY, with notes on back, in “as found” condition. The note on the back states “At the entrance to the Cuartel on Jan. 2, 1958. The Batista troops are surrendering to Rebel troops. Geo H. and I went out to see what we could see. He got quite a few pictures. The rebel second on my right is a woman.” I assuming the lady in a dress in front of the tank is the one who made the note on the back and to her right is a woman holding a gun.
I did do a bit of research and the year of 1958 may actually have been 1959, as there was the surrender on January 1, 1959. I think we all have dated something more than once with the previous year at the beginning of the next year. Meaning dating it January 2, 1958 and not January 2, 1959, with 1959 being what the year should have been written as.
